Meet Vivian Martin, Founder/Chair of the League. She is a lifelong resident of Edinburg, Texas, and an accomplished artist and active member of the art community. She has held leadership roles and chaired the Artrageous Fine Art Show as well as other art events. She began formal art education while raising her children, specializing in pastel portraits, and her artwork reflects the South Texas lifestyle and Mexican culture through vibrant acrylic and watercolor paintings. Vivian is also a dedicated advocate for the arts in the Rio Grande Valley, supporting local art initiatives.

Meet Raquel Flores, Social Media Manager of the League. Born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley and currently reside in Edinburg, TX. As a retired educator, active artist, and aspiring writer, I continue to educate others informally and formally. My bachelor’s art degree is from Texas Woman's University and my master’s degree in education is from the University of Texas in Brownsville. I’ve worked in the graphic art industry and education fields that included teaching art from elementary to adult levels. I enjoy painting and writing when I am not spending precious time with my five beautiful grandchildren. My favorite genre is western art using oil and acrylic to create abstract realism. Although my experience does include all art mediums such as watercolor, printmaking, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, photography, and mixed media. Some of my graphic creations include logos, illustrations, designs, book covers, magazines, brochures, business cards, and a variety of printing challenges. Other activities I enjoy are volunteering for the community in art and culture related events.
